Chevrolet Unveils Youth Driven Concepts in Detroit

Since 1911, Chevrolet has been producing vehicles that define the American lifestyle. From the very first Chevy truck in 1918, to the first Corvette in 1953, the Impala in 1958, and the Camaro in 1967, cars emblazoned with the Gold Bow Tie have endured through generations. It's these types of innovations that are the building blocks of Chevrolet as a whole, and it's exactly the elements that make up the idea behind "Chevy Runs Deep."
And, when Chevy introduced the electric Volt , it spoke volumes about the lengths the automaker is willing to go to answer the needs of their customers. This is the exact approach they took when creating their latest concepts, the Code 130R and the Tru 140S, both of which made their first appearances at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Right alongside the sporty Chevy Sonic RS, the Tru 140s and the Code 130R feature familiar designs with some sporty twists. The Code is a rear-wheel drive car with 19-inch gold wheels, and 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that pumps out 150-hp. With a 109-inch wheel base and a short overhang, it's reminiscent of old school muscle cars but with a sleek futuristic appeal. The Tru, a more familiar looking three-door liftback hatch, features 21-inch wheels, a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine similar to the one found in the Chevy Cruze, but is more powerful at 140 horses.
On the outside, these cars look incredibly different. But both promise an efficient 40 mpg, stop/start technology, room for four passengers, and starting price of just around $20,000, and a (yet-to-be-determined) interior loaded with features. As the outside of the cars were designed with input from young drivers, Chevy has plans to design in interior in the same manner. That is, they're asking for help from the Millennial Generation.
Early reviewers bet that the Tru 140S is the more likely of the two to go into production because of its familiar shape and sleek look. [Dealer] would be happy to see either of these sporty models hit showroom floors, but we'll just have to wait and see what America's youngest drivers have to say! Either way, we're certain that these vehicles will go down in history as iconic Chevy models.
