In 1966, when Chevy put the first 427 big-block engine into their famous Corvette, a legend was born. By the 70s, costumers began to favor fuel-efficiency over power, and the 427 engine was dropped from the lineup. However, to this day, 427 convertibles from the 1966 to 1969 model years are some of the most valuable Corvettes every produced.
